Disaster at sea!

This morning Dr. Robert Spalding was conducting research for his new book about uses for discarded plastic bottles. With a great deal of ingenuity, and even more faith, Robert constructed a canoe made entirely of bottles. He utilized our pool to test the design. He was accompanied by four able bodied seamen (and seawomen) of different size and weight. The idea was to start with the lightest crew and then work up to test the weight carrying capacity of the vessel.

For obvious reasons, the traditional champagne bottle christening was skipped and the first of the fearless adventurers, Jessica Agan,  assumed command of the ship. Unfortunately, after a short time of smartly maneuvering the vessel about the pool, it broke amidship (this is believed to be the same fate suffered by the Edmund Fitzgerald). Oh well, back to the scantlings!
