SSI Training Specialist . . .

The Training Specialist rating is new for 2010. Active and insured DiveCons can qualify to teach, supervise, and issue certifications for a number of Specialty and Junior Specialty programs. With this new rating, DiveCons will assume an even more important role as a member of the Choo Choo Diving & Aquatic Center instructional team.

 

What you will be able to do . . .

  • Teach and issue certifications for Boat Diving
  • Teach and issue certifications for Computer Diving
  • Teach and issue Perfect Buoyancy Certifications
  • Teach and issue the Underwater Navigation Certification
  • Teach and issue certifications for Digital Photography (additional seminar required)

What you will need . . .

  • DiveCon Rating (active & insured)
  • Instructor Outlines for each of the specialties you wish to teach
  • Liquid filled compass
  • Digital Camera / Housing (if applying for photography instructor rating)

  • Policies, procedures, and standards for conducting an SSI specialty course
  • Organize specialty training activities and dives
  • Conduct the academic reviews and examinations
  • How to evaluate diver performance
  • Coach divers to improve performance
  • Tips on how to become a more effective trainer
  • Certification processing
