Search & Recovery Diver

Learn how to locate and recover lost "treasure". Earn money in your spare time retrieving lost outboard motors, props, fishing rods, jewelry, and more!

Qualify for our diving services "call list".  Each year, we receive many calls requesting divers who can help boaters and fishermen recover lost objects. In this course, you will learn the skills needed to surface objects weighing up to 100 pounds.

Prepare to be a rescue diver on local public safety dive teams. Public safety divers in the Chattanooga area are called out frequently to assist local law enforcement at accident scenes on our many waterways, lakes, and streams. The skills you learn in this course can help you qualify.

What you will learn . . .

• How to search a large area, efficiently, using a compass and the "U" pattern technique
• Locate small objects utilizing a line and the circular search pattern
• Construct and utilize a "jackstay" search rig
• Learn to tie the correct knots for lifting objects
• How to rig objects for lifting to the surface
• Atttach, inflate, and control a lift bag
