Deep Diving Course
Location: Alabama Blue Water Adventures, Pelham Many of the more exciting, intriguing, dive sites and shipwrecks are found in deeper water. Learn to use specialized equipment, and gain the knowledge, skills, and procedures necessary for deeper diving. The SSI Deep Diving course will open up a whole new realm of the underwater world!

• Proper surface support

• Making deep descents and ascents
• How to calculate and make deep stops
• Calculating and managing gas reserves
• Strategies for dealing with nitrogen narcosis
• How to use an SMB and reel as an ascent line

What you will need . . .• Underwater slate and pencil
• Underwater light
• Total diving system, including computer
• One or two tanks
• SMB & reel (optional)
• Redundant gas supply/pony bottle (optional)
How to prepare . . .• Call 423.899.1008 to reserve your place in class
• Pick up the student materials or have them mailed
• Watch the DVD
• Read the manual, complete the study guide questions and transfer the answers to the supplied sheets
• Review the study guide with the instructor at the dive site

Special course notes . . .• Please plan to meet just outside the office at ABWA at 9:00 AM central time for group check-in
• Bring cash or credit card for admission and an airfill, if you have only one cylinder
• Pack a lunch and/or snacks as we will not leave the park until around 4 pm
• Bring at least 48 ounces of bottled water for each diver
• Make certain that you bring your study guide questions
• The staff is staying at the Best Western on Saturday night and will have dinner at Zapata's restaurant at 8 PM central. Join us for food and drinks!
